About Wolfmother
Wolfmother is a Grammy Award-winning Australian hard rock, heavy metal, psychedelic rock, and stoner-rock band formed in Sydney, New South Wales, in 2000 by lead vocalist, lead guitarist, and primary songwriter Andrew Stockdale alongside bassist/keyboardist Chris Ross and drummer Myles Heskett. Drawing deep sonic influence from 1970s hard rock titans Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple, Wolfmother spearheaded a massive international hard-rock renaissance.
Their landmark 2005 self-titled debut album 'Wolfmother' achieved multi-platinum status worldwide and won the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance for their immortal worldwide smash anthem 'Woman'. The album also produced global rock anthems including 'Joker & the Thief' (celebrated across major movie soundtracks and video games), 'White Unicorn', 'Mind's Eye', 'Dimension', and 'Colossal'. Subsequent acclaimed records like 'Cosmic Egg' (2009) and 'Victorious' (2016) solidified their arena-headlining status.
Stockdale's soaring Robert Plant-esque falsetto, explosive fuzz-distorted Gibson SG riffs, and thundering rhythm sections have headlined major festivals worldwide, including Coachella, Download, and Reading & Leeds.
For rock guitarists worldwide, 'Woman' and 'Joker & the Thief' feature some of the most celebrated and exhilarating hard-rock power riffs, wah-wah guitar solos, and drop-D grooves in modern rock history, making Wolfmother's chords and tabs essential for every electric guitar player.
